Well, we turned around the other day and realized that we are now past the one year mark. Time flies. Everyone at the shop wants to thank all of you out there who have taken us this far. It’s been a wild ride and we have some great things in the cards - expect some big changes! Don’t be scared though, because it will only mean a better experience fill with more product (think more shoes, more sunglasses, more tees, more watches, more jewelry, more dresses, more shirts…), a better website and increased customer service. How are we going to do this?
Just wait….
In the mean time, we have teamed up with Red Stripe, The Party and Kiddrae254 to put on an appreciation event. Check out the flier, but on Saturday the 12th of July we will be bringing you a mix of music, beer and sale prices. Stay for a minute, stay for the day, we don’t care; we will be hanging out at the shop relaxing and handing out great deals on all type of merchandise.
Threadless is, if you haven’t heard already, a concept from Chicago that let’s you submit your tee shirt design, which, if selected, is printed and sold to the thousands of people who frequent the site. Chuck Anderson, of NoPattern, recently submitted a post on his blog tipping his hat to the crew from Threadless for making the cover of INC Magazine. Here is what he has to say:
Where do I personally even begin when it comes to Threadless? Before I started NoPattern as my full-time thing in 2004 I was packing t-shirts at their Chicago office and trying to learn as much as I could from a small group of dudes who I thought were doing some awesome things. Did I imagine they’d be as explosively successful as they are now in such a short amount of time? Not really, not this fast…but it certainly does not surprise me and I feel they completely deserve every bit of press, success, and praise they get. I’ll keep this short and to the point but I just really want to commend Threadless, specifically Jake Nickell and Jeffrey Kalmikoff, on what I think is their coolest piece of press to date. The cover of Inc. Magazine for June 2008. Super happy for these guys having watched them grow from a small office with shirts wedged onto a few shelves in a corner to a giant playground of an office with a warehouse staffed with people packing thousands of shirts a day. Nice headline on the cover too, sheesh! “The Most Innovative Small Company in America.” Again, congrats guys…Truly one of the most deserving and forward-thinking companies around. See the cover in the link below.

The Summer line-up from everyone’s favorite, Free Gold Watch, has just hit the shelves here at Centre and is flying. We might not have enough time to photograph it all before it’s gone, so here are a few at just three of the eight or so new prints:
Free Gold Watch - Shutter Shades Tee ($38)
Free Gold Watch - ‘86 Supra Tee ($38)
Free Gold Watch - Live Fast, Die Young Tee ($38)
Geoff and the guys at Matrimoney have spent quite some time planning the launch of their clothing line. As regular patrons, we got to hear about the process from design to production. The guys have put together a really strong first collection that shows off some high-quality production (custom bodies on the tees, full cut and sew) and branding (they twist their logo on the back to match the story of the tee) at a great price. We are stocking 5 styles from the line you can check out below:
Matrimoney - Golden Ticket Tee ($32)
Matrimoney - King Kong Tee Tee ($32)
Matrimoney - Ballin’ Mary Tee ($32)
 Matrimoney - Strapped Tee ($32)
Matrimoney - Foreign Relations Tee ($32)
After the whirlwind success of Roberta Oaks dresses last summer, we have been awaiting the arrival of her new summer collection. Although the weather has yet to break into the real Summer stuff, you know it’s right around the corner and you know these dresses goes fast:
Roberta Oaks - Amalie ($155)
Roberta Oaks - Aubrey ($160)
Roberta Oaks - Martine ($155)
Roberta Oaks - Amalie ($155)
The Remixalone shirt I promised a while back, has been printed and turned out super FRESH! Remixalone came correct as always, with this four color Brave Choice design. All shirts are American Apparel and are printed with a discharge ink process. (really nice!)
From Central Booking.
These are in the shop for $25 (S-XL).
Hold on to your seats, because next month the shades to end all shades will be making a stop at Centre. We might have mentioned these a while back, but here are some more ‘looks’. Every color of the rainbow, Zeiss Lenses, premium Italian acetate and hinges. Your fakes (come on, we all have a pair) from Urban Outfitters are shaking in their boots!!!
Quick little accessory update. Some great, well-priced straw fedoras from Stussy arrived at the shop:
Stussy - Straw Fedora, black ($31)
This looks to be the second to last shipment from Stussy for Spring ‘08 and it includes some great pieces with the Futura Destiny Raindrop Camo. First up is Destiny Futura Jacket, featuring a very light nylon shell and some great tech details. Next are two more pieces with the signature Raindrop Camo: the Record Bag and the Men’s Tote Bag. Really great details on these pieces and we especially like the record bag (not that anyone seems to use vinyl anymore - but it will fit your nifty new MacBook and Serato Scratch control vinyl).
Stussy - Destiny Futura Jacket, Raindrop Camo ($115)
Stussy - Destiny Record Bag, Raindrop Camo ($81)
Stussy- Destiny Men’s Tote Bag, Raindrop Camo ($32)
Wanted to let those that have been asking that we have gotten in three more Staple Varsity Pigeon Jackets. These are the last of their sizes from the warehouse so don’t sleep. Unreal craftmanship, great details and a classic look. Here are some pics to remind you of the piece:
Recently got in some pieces from a new line we are very excited about. Charlotte Ronson, sister of the very talented Mark Ronson, started her line of vintage inspired clothing in the Fall of 2005 and has gained quite a following. Here is just a teaser of what’s in stock. More will be posted shortly.
A few more pieces from Stussy. First up is the Laced Raglan with 3/4 contrast sleeves. Features an intricately illustrated skull made from shoe laces on the front along with the Stussy global cities on the back. Next, the Mega Polo is a simple black polo with all-over embroidery of different Stussy icons.
Stussy - Laced Raglan, black ($30)
Stussy - Mega Polo, black ($60)
More more more, yes yes yes. Stussy stussy stussy. The perennial favorite, returns with some accessories for your head. First from the Detstiny Collection is the Futura Arrows Script Fitted in two colors followed by the Logos All Over in a Satin Black. Also, there are a couple of detail pics after the jump below.
Stussy Destiny Script Fitted New Era Ballcap - Graphite ($45)
Stussy Destiny Script Fitted New Era Ballcap - Camo ($45)
Stussy Logos All Over Fitted New Era Ballcap - Black ($40)
Here is a quick follow-up to the shipment of Stussy tees (which are selling like hot cakes, so get down here if you want one - $25 and they are like buttah baby). Wanted to get some nice simple Stussy Authentic Gear in the shop. The two jackets below are great Springtime pieces seeing as they are light cotton, and the Classic Jacket even features zip vents on both arms to beat that Texas heat. Really simple, really classic, really great price. What more do you need???
Stussy Squad Jacket - Black ($90)
Stussy Blackout Plaid Classic Jacket - Pink ($85)
A new shipment of tees just arrived from Monrow, but you might know them better as Harlow (they just changed their name). Anyway, really soft, long tees and tanks in a custom body that are great layering pieces. The tie-dye is a unique look to the normal, often over-the-top, hippie tie-dye stuff. Also, for some detail shots, click ‘more’.

As promised, here are some fit pics of the Oak soft terry cotton and chambray blazers from the POST earlier today. Classic, effortless, a great warm weather layering piece.
Things are starting to ship daily here at the store. Though it was a small box, the first teaser from Oak has to be one of our favorites for the season. Below you will see two soft blazers, one constructed with chambray and the other with a very light cotton terry. If you are looking for a great layering piece as we move into warmer weather, these are the ticket. The fit is great for both men and women - just add a white tee, roll the cuffs up and you are ready to roll in style. We’ll add a ‘fit’ picture soon because the product pictures below just don’t do them justice.

This season, the Stussy featured artist is graffiti legend Futura. Besides doing his tweak on the logo with the Arrows Script (done with reflective 3M paint), he brought a fun twist on the ever-abused skull with his Skullacons print. Also, check out the bubble hoodie at the bottom:
