Just off the plane and back on firm ground here in Dallas. It’s good to be back and breath that good ole muggy air. MMMMMMMM. Honestly though, after the sensory overload of Vegas, home is a really nice thing. I no idea how that town works. It is a 24/7, non-stop, in your face, loud slice of Americana. Seriously, you can walk through a casino and onto the strip and within the space of about 400 yards you will have seen high rollers (with escort), tank tops and mullets, terrible casino dealer outfits, burned out cocktail waitresses, kids flying across the floor on Heeleys, groups of girls all wearing the same mini cocktail dress, immigrants handing out strip club flyers, and dudes walking around drunk with fruity cocktails in 3 foot high containers. Phewww. Yeah, all that in just a few hundred yards.
Well, it was a pretty good show for us. As we evolve and get feedback from you guys, selecting all our products becomes a little easier. We always want to expand your horizons and bring new styles colors and labels never before seen in dallas, but having a good handle on what trends are picking up in Dallas really helps. You have to consider a range of things from color, brand, style, size and price when sorting through the thousands upon thousands of brands out there. To add to that, most of the stuff at the show is slated for a Spring 2009 delivery, so while while you might be gearing up for cold weather, we are thinking about things heating up next Spring. Needless to say, it’s a little over whelming but that isn’t to say we didn’t have some fun along the way.

Just yesterday we unpacked about 10 boxes of products. From shoes, to sunglasses, to tees, there is something for a lot of tastes. We will post more pics up shortly, but there are new shoes from Alife, sunglasses from Super, tees from 3 Sixteen and MHI, and 5 new styles from Nike of course the Silver NS Skytops from Supra set to release tomorrow at noon.
Just got back from Magic two seconds ago and noticed a few new tees from Stussy. The piece you see above is a logo interpretation by the collaborative artist of the season, Delta. There is much more from Stussy in the mail and new shipments are really rolling in with boxes arriving from Alife, 3 Sixteen and Supra within the past few days.
Was recently tipped off about a great new surfing movie documenting some longboarders across the world. Surf movies (like skate/ski/you name it) are a dime a dozen since it takes a laptop and a digi cam to shoot an entire production these days. But there are many out there that seek to elevate the form beyond it’s ‘porn’ (you know what we mean, those vids where is just shot after shot of people going huge with a hard core metal or rap track in the background). One of those companies is High Seas Film, who have completely killed it on their feature Picaresque. Check out the trailer:
Not only is the cinephotography amazing, but the track you hear is banging. Did some snooping around and found out it’s called Osaka Line Loop from a collaboration called Discovery. Discovery is the work of one member from Vampire Weekend (but you are soo over them already right?) and one from Ra Ra Riots. Someone definitely need to put this beat onto something else…anyone? Sober? Prince Will?

We gave you a heads up on Estelle’s American Boy as the single of the Summer, but over the weekend we heard something that really caught our ears. It probably caught our ears because it had that same catchy beats and a silky female voice…but this time it was different. Enter ‘Jamaican Boy’: the Caribbean island’s response to the British Island star’s song. So catchy:
We are about to embark on a journey that can only be described as organized chaos. For those familiar with fashion and the apparel market, the word ‘Magic‘ means only one thing: Las Vegas. Every six months, tens of thousands of people working in the word of fashion descend upon Sin City. Some are there to check out the newest styles from their favorite brands, others are there to hawk their wares and still others are there to…well, we don’t know what some people do there.
Needless to say, it is a beating of senses with parties, meet and greets and celebrity sightings. Starting Monday, August 25th, Picnic, Kiddrae254 and Centre will embark upon that journey. In order to give everyone a good chance to purchase the shoes, we will release the shoes for sale on Saturday the 30th of August at 12 Noon, Central Time. As you know, this is a first-come, first-serve event, so please be ready. Two new Air Max 1s from Nike just landed at the shop. One is for men and the other women, but both take inspiration from the Olympic Games. First up for Women is the ‘Five Rings’ Max 1 with the colorway mimicking the colors of the five Olympic rings.

…got it? Good, because the subtle colorway is given nice pops with gold accents and an intricate geometric design on the ankle collar. If you look closely, you’ll see that the sole is gold as well. So, get some gold on your feet, because gold fronts went the way of the dinosaur.
