January 19th, 2008 Villa Eugénie :: Events Company

I came across a really cool, short spec on Belgian event producers Villa Eugénie. With a client list consisting of Chanel, Dries Van Noten, Miu Miu, Maison Martin Margiela, Lanvin, Hermès, Hugo Bosss, Sonia Rykiel, Olivier Strelli, and Y-3 just to name a few, you know these guys mean business. You know that when you are hired any of those clients your product delivery is going to be scrutinized by some of the sharpest eyes on the planet. I can’t even imagine the attention to detail required to produce this caliber of event. Anyway, enjoy:

Best known for its catwalk extravaganzas, Villa Eugénie is now involved in not just creating spectacular fashion shows, but staging major events for luxury business in all of its forms - magazine launches, major celebrations, and jewellery, perfume, art and opera installations, corporate events and fairs around the world. The team also advises major fashion brands on store concepts, stores space searches, lighting and branding. Although based in Brussels, Villa Eugénie operates in all major fashion and luxury centers and has a permanent office also in Miami.

Russo started humbly in the 1980s as an artistic and creative barman at Mirano, a fashionable nightclub in Brussels. He was soon creating major events there and drawing serious attention. His first real fashion client was Dries Van Noten for whom he worked as a model, salesman, lighting engineer, cook and extraordinary producer of Van Noten’s first fashion show in Paris in 1991.

January 19th, 2008 Pinel & Pinel :: Custom Trunks

pinel pinel trunk

How many times have you found yourself on the deck your mega-yacht sipping a martini and thinking that it would be nice to have all of your shoes stored in a custom trunk? And then you naturally ask yourself, wouldn’t it be nice to watch TV while looking at those shoes? Well, if you are like me this has never happened, and the picture above represents possibly the most unnecessary item ever created. Maybe if it came with a monkey dressed in a tuxedo that would carry the trunk would I be interested.

I’m willing to bet that most of you have (or wish you had) more shoes that you can possibly even remember. And more than likely the floor of your closet resembles an absolute train wreck. Pinel & Pinel, a luxury goods manufacturer out of Paris, may have the answer for you. The design team has created a series of trunks used primarily for stereo and office storage inspired by the golden age of train and ocean liner travel. The most recent addition to the collection, a sneaker storage trunk on wheels, is designed especially for those of you who have been waiting for the perfect means of organizing – and displaying – your favorite shoes.
