December 7th, 2007 The Great Indoors Awards

Saturday evening 17 November the winners of The Great Indoors Award 2007 were announced by member of the Jury Wiel Arets in a warm and lively atmosphere in the NAi Maastricht. Wonderwall was honoured with the award for Interior Design Firm of the Year, Zaha Hadid, Heatherwick Studios, Ryui Nakamura Architects and Item Idem carried away the other four of The Great Indoors Awards 2007.

I saw this posted a few days back and thought I would share some pictures of some really cool spaces around the world. It’s of particular interest because Wonderwall was one of the key influences of Centre’s design rational. If you are not familiar, Wonderwall is a firm headed by Masamichi Katayama that gained a lot of notoriety from teaming up with Nigo to design the Bape stores (above). Moving off of those successes, Wonderwall has gone on to design some amazing spaces around the world. Below you can see just a glimpse of his work in the Hysteric Glamour store in Tokyo.
