Well, a big pat on the back to the City of Dallas for finally taking the time to approve our little sign. Apparently it was down to the wire for the approval committee, but after hours of deliberation the stalemate was broken by Mayor Laura Miller (who is secretly on our payroll). So come down tonight and join all the neighborhood moths as they revel at our new reverse-channel white neon sign!

Banksy:

If you havent heard of him (her?) by name then you have likely at least seen some of Banksy’s pop art. Whether or not you agree with his messages or ’street art’ in general, you have to agree that Banksy has made a huge impact on how we perceive and define art. Saw a piece done by London’s The Guardian posted on Supertouchblog.com that offers an interesting take on the controversial art….

In preparation for the Summer launch of the Simpsons movie a few of the 7-11s across the country have been converted into Qwik-E-Marts. It’s a pretty interesting promotions play as I dont think I have seen anything this coordinated and on this scale. Inside, there are quite a few clever plays bringing some of our favorite characters and products off of the cartoon strip an into the ‘real’ world. A few of the things I saw: Buzz Cola, Squishies (sp?) and Homer’s donuts.
